Bar Metro Northern Higashiyama

The only club we’ve ever seen inside a train station, the aptly named Metro is located in one of the entrance tunnels to the Keihan Line’s Marutamachi Station.

Metro has been just about single-handedly been keeping Kyoto on the musical map for small indie bands, both domestic and international. I can still hear the beats echoing from Cut Chemists mad show here and many other interesting acts have done their stuff on the tiny stage here. Metro is also famous for hosting various alternative orientation events, like “Non-hetero at the Metro” and “Diamond Night Cabaret Night.”
