Camellia is located in Northwest Kyoto, a short walk from Ryoan-ji Temple. It’s in a lovely traditional Japanese house with a superb garden. The lady who runs the place speaks fluent English and offers a graceful, engaging and enjoyable tea ceremony, without the usual formality that detracts from many tea ceremonies in Japan.

This is the perfect way to relax after a visit to Ryoan-ji or Kinkaku-ji. It’s highly recommended!

You can read more about the tradition of the tea ceremony on our Kyoto Tea Ceremony page.
