Restaurant Eat Paradise Kyoto Station Area

Note that Eat Paradise is now part of the Porta Kyoto complex. For details see our Porta Kyoto page.

The best collection of restaurants in Kyoto Station, Eat Paradise is our favorite place for a sit-down meal before getting on a train or exploring the area.

Starting from the main atrium of Kyoto Station and looking north (toward Kyoto Tower), take the series of escalators on the left that lead up to the 11th floor (yes, that’s a lot of escalators). Step off the escalators on the 11th floor and walk a bit to your left and you’ll see the entrance to Eat Paradise Food Court. Basically a corridor lined with restaurants, you’ll find some really toothsome Japanese food here, along with acceptable Italian and café fare. If you want some excellent tempura, try Tenichi. For great tonkatsu (Japanese-style pork cutlets), try Wako. Most places display food models in front and some have English menus (and they’re all pretty used to foreigners — this being Kyoto Station and all).
