Urasenke Chado Research Center

Kyoto has always been the heart of Japanese tea culture, and the Urasenke Chado Research Center is the equivalent of the Vatican of the Relgion of Tea.

The tea ceremony is where almost all important Japanese traditional arts come together to form what amount to a transcendent experience built around the sacrament of a humble cup of powdered green tea. For aficionados of the tea ceremony, the merely curious, of those who’d like to study the art, the Urasenke Chado Research Center should be your first stop.
