Soranoiro is a pioneer in Tokyo’s ramen scene, making a huge splash with vegan and vegetarian ramen when most bowls were steadfastly fish or meat-based. As you’d expect of vegetable-heavy ramen, everything on the menu incredibly vibrant and colorful, and just looking at it makes you feel light and healthy.

At the Kojimachi branch, you’ll want to order the original Special Veggie Soba. This is a carrot puree-based soup with paprika noodles, vegetable toppings, and the ubiquitous egg. Their Kojimachi shop, opened in 2011, was so phenomenally successful that they’ve since opened up two more branches - one in Kyobashi, and one in Tokyo’s Ramen Street, where only the best of the best from all over the nation are allowed to set up shop.
