October 2022: Please note Bar Six has now permanently closed. Please see our Asakusa, Ryogoku and Skytree page for other dining experiences in the district.
Bar Six is a rooftop bar overlooking Asakusa, with views of the temple grounds below as well as the Sky Tree to the east. The cover charge is a little steep, but well worth it.

Bar Six is a little tricky to find. The entrance is located down a side street directly parallel to Asakusa-jinja Shrine, and you’ll have to buzz your way upstairs when it opens at 6pm. The slightly hidden entrance lends it a fun air of secrecy.

Like most bars in Tokyo, there’s a cover charge. It’s a little steep at JPY1000 but worth it for the Sky Tree views. The menu isn’t anything to really write home about, but you’ll have your pick of wine, cocktails (try the mojitos), light bar snacks and pizza.
Weather permitting, you’ll want to sit on the outdoor terrace for the best views. Because Bar Six isn’t the easiest place to find, it never gets too crowded even on weekends - which can only be a good thing for you.
