Cinquecento

Located on the east edge of Shinsaibashi, CinqueCento is a casual bar-restaurant offering really cheap drinks and a friendly crowd. It’s a great place to meet some locals and expats.

With a name that translates to “500” in Italian, CinqueCento is a casual little cocktail bar that does what it sets out to do - serving drinks that go for just JPY500 a pop. Owned by an Australian expat, the bar is a popular hangout spot for Osakan expats, and it’s great for the bilingual crowd.

They serve all kinds of cocktails here, but the martinis are the most popular drinks on the menu, and they have wide variety of them. Think concoctions like dirty martinis, chocolate martinis, apple martinis, and cherry hooker martinis. The drinks are reasonably well made and go down a treat early in the evening.

CinqueCento isn’t too busy earlier in the evening, and it’s a nice, relaxing environment to begin a night out before heading elsewhere for a night of dancing. Alternatively, it’s not a bad place to end a night out. It’s a good thing everything here is so reasonably priced!
