The Kyoto International Community House Northern Higashiyama
- Kyoto
- 07 Apr, 2025
The Kyoto International Community House has a lot to offer the short-term visitor, including a library with international papers and magazines, free internet and wifi.
For most foreigners setting up shop in Kyoto, the Kyoto International Community House is their first stop: the vast message board lists jobs, apartments for rent, goods for sale and even personal ads for lovelorn singles. There’s also free wifi and several internet terminals, as well as a library with magazines and newspapers from all over the world. As if that weren’t enough, they even offer free Japanese lessons and even free legal counseling. There’s even a coffee shop where you can chill out and admire the views of the wonderful garden and a TV usually playing CNN or BBC. It’s a very short walk from Nanzen-ji Temple, which makes it the perfect place to cool down or warm up after a bit of temple hopping.
