Yoshuji Restaurant Kurama

Yoshuji is the nicest place to eat in Kurama, full stop. You can choose from sets of Buddhist vegetarian cuisine or simpler bowls of noodles.

Halfway up the steps on your right just before you enter Kurama-dera Mountain Temple, Yoshuji is a great place to fuel up before an ascent of the mountain (or a good place to slake that hunger after doing the climbing). This is a surprisingly sophisticated restaurant for such a small village as this, and this delightful incongruity only adds to the attraction of the place.
