Shinjuku Granbell Hotel Tokyo
- Tokyo
- 15 Jun, 2025
The Shinjuku Granbell Hotel is a clean new hotel in east Shinjuku. It’s a bit of a walk from the station through Kabukicho (the red-light district) but the rates are very reasonable.
The Granbell sits on the far side of Kabukicho, amid a sea of love hotels (the Granbell is NOT a love hotel). It’s about 15 minutes’ walk to the station and you can avoid the seedy parts of Kabukicho if you wish. The rates at the Granbell take into account the distance from the station and the less-than-ideal location. And, to be fair, nothing in Japan is that seedy.
The hotel is new, clean and modern. Rooms are typically small for Japan, but that’s to be expected. There are some decent views from the upper rooms and there is a nice rooftop bar.
All in all, if you can get a good deal here and want to be in East Shinjuku, the Granbell is a good option.
