Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Marunouchi At A Glance
- Great for: couples, solo travelers, business travelers on a budget
- Strong points: next to Tokyo Station, reasonable rates
- Sample rates: US$200 to $300
[Corner king room]
There’s a lot to be said for staying near Tokyo Station: It’s the transport center of Tokyo and there are nearly infinite restaurants and shops to choose from. The Metropolitan is on the north end of the station, close to the Marunouchi side, so it’s also close to the Imperial Palace, Nihombashi and the wide and pleasant streets of the Marunouchi district. So, location-wise, the Metropolitan is great.
[Hotel atrium]
The Metropolitan is in a tower above the station and the views from the rooms are great. The rooms themselves are relatively small, which is what you expect in a business hotel. Obviously, you can pay more to get corner rooms that offer significantly more space. There’s a decent restaurant here and a small gym. So, for an efficient and convenient place to stay for a few nights in Tokyo, this is a reasonable, no-nonsense choice.
