Artizon Museum

Formerly the Bridgestone Museum of Art, the Artizon Museum reopened in a new venue near Tokyo Station in 2020. The museum houses a collection of Western and Japanese art from the 19th century to 20th century, as well as some classical Asian and Western ceramics.

The Artizon (a portmanteau of “art” and “horizon”) Museum is home to the Ishibashi Foundation collection amassed by Ishibashi Shojiro, who founded the Bridgestone Tire company. The collection is very strong but only small bits of it are displayed at any one time. We recommend that you check what’s being shown while you are in town and visit if it strikes your interest.
