Devilcraft Hamamatsucho

DevilCraft in Hamamatsucho specializes in Chicago-style deep-dish pizzas, paired with some of the finest craft beer around. The classic combo of beer and pizza here is every bit as good as it’s advertised.

It’s always good to have a list of pizza parlours handy for those nights when only something ultra-cheesy will do. When the tenth rerun of Mamma Mia doesn’t cut it for you, head over to DevilCraft Hamamatsucho for some super cheesy Chicago-style deep-dish pizza.

The Devilcraft pizza shops specialize in excellent craft beer and Chicago-style pizza, a combination which has proven to be wildly popular in Tokyo. The Hamamatsucho branch is located a stone’s throw from the south exit of the JR Station in an otherwise fairly quiet neighborhood.

While the pies at DevilCraft aren’t Chicago-sized - this is Japan, after all - they’re deliciously filling and satisfying nonetheless. You could theoretically finish one pie by yourself, but we recommend sharing with at least one other person and adding a supplementary side dish. It’s a lot of cheese for one person.

As for the craft beer, you won’t find watery, flavorless draughts here. Whether from American or Japanese breweries, the twenty-odd craft beers on tap here deliver on punch and flavor. What’s on tap changes daily, so you’ll always have a new favorite to discover. Non-alcohol drinkers are reasonably well-catered for too - try the pineapple juice or spicy ginger ale. Note that all customers are required to order at least one food and drink item each.

Unsurprisingly, all three branches of DevilCraft - Hamamatsucho, Kanda, and Gotanda - are popular with expats and Japanese locals alike. If you’re not planning on being through the doors when they open, reservations are strongly recommended, especially on weekends.
