Cross Hotel Osaka

For a reasonably-priced, stylish, modern hotel with clean and comfortable rooms, Cross Hotel Osaka is just the ticket. It’s great for visitors who want to be near all the action happening in Dotonbori.

Cross Hotel
Osaka

If you’re looking for an affordable and comfortable hotel in the heart of Osaka, Cross Hotel is a good option to consider. Located just a minute’s walk from the Dotonbori area, 3 minutes on foot from Namba Station, and 5 minutes walking distance from Shinsaibashi Station, it’s about as central as you can get! Those who like shopping will find the proximity to Amerika-mura and the shopping arcade very helpful.

Cross Hotel has over 200 Western-style, ensuite rooms with a decent set of amenities - flat-screen TVs, a mini fridge, hairdryers, slippers, and toiletries. The pillows are on the hard side, which is typical for Japanese hotels. Rooms are clean, and decently spacious for the central location. Don’t expect a palace, though - Japanese hotels do tend to be on the smaller side.

Cross Hotel
Osaka

At around USD20, breakfast is probably not worth the price tag. You’re better off exploring some interesting cafe options in the vicinity or in the Kita-Horie area a little further out. The staff at Cross Hotel are reasonably friendly and helpful, and speak a little English.

One caveat: if you’re a light sleeper, make sure you ask for a quiet room. Any room facing the street is likely to be on the noisier side - unsurprising since Dotonbori is at the center of all the party action, and it comes with the territory!

If you’re visiting during peak season, the price of a room here might be on the too-high end for some travellers. Just know that you’re paying to have Dotonbori right on your doorstep.
