Uniqlo Ginza

It stands to reason that Uniqlo, Japan’s most famous clothing brand, would have a shop in Ginza. But it’s not just any old shop - it’s 12 floors of non-stop Uniqlo apparel to satisfy all your wardrobe requirements for the next few years.

At one end of the fashion spectrum in Japan are famously colorful and eccentric subcultures, represented by Harajuku darling Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. At the other end is Uniqlo, which is as neutral, basic, and functional as you can get. The latter is easier to wear daily, so it’s no surprise that Uniqlo was such a hit with shoppers worldwide.

Uniqlo’s flagship store in Ginza spans 12 floors, and it’s their largest outlet in Japan. You’ll find pretty much anything you could ever want to buy in Uniqlo in this shop, whether it’s heat tech shirts, wireless bras, or ultra-light down jackets for cold-weather hiking. There’s even a section where you can customize tote bags.

Ginza sees plenty of tourist traffic, and the Uniqlo staff here are correspondingly cosmopolitan.

About 100 out of the 500+ members of staff here are non-Japanese, and they’re well-poised to handle the stream of tourists doing their tax-free shopping here. Don’t forget your passport when you come here to shop.
