Named for the huge Tokyo Dome, which is home to the Yomiuri Giants baseball team, Tokyo Dome city offers a lot more than just great indoor baseball games. For the kids, there’s a great amusement park, where you pay by the ride. It’s a lot more convenient and cheaper than slogging out to Tokyo Disney, and the adults can do other things while the kids go on the rides. Of course, adults are welcome, too. At the amusement park, you can buy individual tickets or day passes that offer unlimited rides for ¥4200 for adults and ¥2800 for children. They also sell “skip passes” to minimize waiting on lines.

In the middle of the complex, you’ll find Spa La Qua, which is a huge “spa land” where you can spend half a day soaking in a huge variety of baths and saunas. They claim to use real hot spring water, but who cares if it’s real or not since it’s very relaxing? If your kids are old enough, you can soak here while the kids enjoy the rides.
