Teddys Bigger Burgers

The Harajuku branch of Hawaiian fast food restaurant Teddy’s Bigger Burgers offers reasonably priced, decent burgers. Don’t expect premium patties, but do go if you also want pancakes after your meal.

Frequented as it is by the young, hip, and outward-looking, it’s unsurprising that Harajuku also has several burger joints - there’s clearly a demand for quality fast food.

Often considered one of Hawaii’s best fast food chains, Teddy’s Bigger Burgers in Harajuku has been around for almost a decade and it’s still going strong. In that time, it’s expanded its menu to feed the local obsession with pancakes, so you’ll see an array of fruit-topped pancakes on the menu in addition to the burgers.

The inside of Teddy’s is bright and welcoming, with a faux-Hawaiian vibe. The lurid cocktails on the menu, in context, fit right in. This being a Hawaiian import, there’s an English menu inside. It’s also dog-friendly if you’re sitting on the terrace.

The 100% beef patties at Teddy’s come in three sizes: Big (120g), Bigger (170g) and Biggest (220g). They’re flat and wide, and always charbroiled to order. It won’t be the best burger you’ve ever eaten, but it’s not bad if you’ve an itch to scratch, and you’re not willing to wait 45 minutes at a place like Fellows in the neighborhood.
