Located high atop a towering building in west Shinjuku, the Park Hyatt is a beautiful luxury hotel with great facilities and eye-popping views.

Park Hyatt
Tokyo

The Park Hyatt Tokyo is one of the city’s most iconic luxury hotels. This reputation was boosted when it served as the setting for the movie “Lost in Translation.” While a few new luxury hotels have sprung up to give the Park Hyatt some stiff competition, the hotel remains one of the most beautiful in the city.

The rooms are large and offer some truly spectacular views. If you’re lucky and you’re in a west-facing room, you stand a good chance of seeing Mt Fuji on a clear day.

The hotel has some great restaurants and a brilliant lounge bar, which is very popular in the evenings. The pool is also stunning and it will surely rank as one of the most incredible places you’ve ever swum.

The only downside here is the location: It’s on the west edge of Shinjuku and it’s a bit of a walk to Shinjuku Station. There’s a shuttle bus and taxis are always available, but it’s not quite as convenient as some other places.

Price here are invariably high and you can get comparable levels of luxury for lower prices in Tokyo. But, you might not get the views or the bragging rights. You decide.
