Whether you’re here for their afternoon tea or the night view of Tokyo Bay, stylish hotel bar TwentyEight in Shiodome is sure to dazzle and impress. Beware the seating charge after 8pm.

TwentyEight, located in the lobby of the Conrad Hotel in Shiodome, is a fine example of a bar done right. It’s a great place to unwind over a drink, whether by yourself or with friends.

When you do visit, find yourself a seat by the huge floor-to-ceiling windows for an obstacle-free view of Tokyo Bay beyond. The aerial view of Hama Rikyu Gardens during the day is especially pretty.

While it’s popular for afternoon tea, we love visiting in the early evening and watching the sunset here. It’s even better at night when the live band starts up. Expect lots of Bossa nova and other Latin music.

Unlike other hotel bars - like, say, the Park Hyatt or Ritz-Carlton - the drinks here are serviceable but not particularly noteworthy. They’re as pricey as you’d expect from a hotel bar, and one should take note of the JPY1800 seating charge applied after 8pm.
