Located in Okubo, which is one stop north of Shinjuku on the Yamanote Loop Line, this Hundred Stay is a convenient base for exploring the city. You can hop on the loop line and be at Shinjuku Station in a minute or two or walk there in 15 minutes. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby but the crowds are much thinner than down in the fleshpots of Shinjuku. So, for location, we give Hundred Stay high marks.

Hundred stay describes itself as a “residence hotel” and that means laundry facilities and simple kitchens in each room. The bigger rooms also have separate living areas. This is great when traveling with the family. Indeed, we rate this as one of the best family hotels in the city, although the smaller rooms are also great for couples. And all rooms have great views over the city — the kind of views that you normally have to pay much more money for in other parts of Tokyo.

Given the convenient location, family-friendly facilities and reasonable rates, we think this is one of the best values in the mid-range bracket.
