If you’re looking for a classic “grand dame” hotel in Tokyo, consider the New Otani. It’s not the newest hotel in Tokyo, but it’s an elegant and polished operation with some great views from the rooms and a lovely garden.

The hotel is divided into the main building and the tower. We like the tower rooms for the great views they offer over the city. The garden is great for a stroll and fans of the show “Fuller House” will definitely recognize the waterfall.
The location in Akasaka is not the most convenient in the city, but it’s peaceful and relaxed and you’re within walking distance of several subway stations and a taxi will get you to the other urban hubs very easily.
