If you don’t mind staying on the north side of the station, the Sainoniwa is a wonderful upper-mid-range hotel with spacious rooms, great service, a good restaurant and a beautiful onsen-like bathing area (and, of course, all rooms also have en suite bathrooms).

The Sainoniwa is a great addition to the Kanazawa hotel scene. It’s a beautiful and well-run hotel with plenty of charm and features to recommend it. It’s in a quiet and peaceful area on the north side of the station. There’s a regular shuttle bus to the station and a taxi won’t take long to get you to the sights in the center of town.

There are all kinds of great touches here that you’ll appreciate, like free ice cream, coffee and tea in the lounge, laundry facilities and many more. And the restaurant serves a fantastic Japanese or Western breakfast.

Really, if you understand that you’ll have to take the convenient shuttle or a taxi to do your sightseeing (and maybe you like staying away from the hustle and bustle), this is easily one of the best hotels in town and the rates are very reasonable for what you get. It’s highly recommended.
